The end of 2015 and the start of 2016 has been a busy one, and I've been tied up with various projects. However this has meant that what time I do have I spend with the Tiny Human and not writing this blog, which has been pressing on the back of my mind while I catch up on everything and get my ducks lined up.
I'm not one for making new year resolutions, I don't see the point in setting yourself up for failure, if you're going to do something then just do it (or don't). I do however set goals, I don't tell anybody these goals (not even the bearded one), but they are up there floating around in my head.
Generally each year my goal is the same...

BE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN LAST YEAR!
This year I added another one to the list...
MAKE TIME FOR FAMILY
I LOVE working, being busy, immersing myself in projects and having money, but this (more often than not) leads other areas of life to suffer.
My granddad is in his 80's and still working, partly because he has to and partly because he doesn't know what he would do otherwise.
While visiting over the holidays he reminded me of something I said when I was younger and it surprised me that he remembered, because I didn't.
My granddad has his own business making electronics for motorcycles (done in the great kiwi friend, the shed/garage), he has had this business my whole life and is always working, one night when I was younger I went down to his shed and asked "Granddad, why are you always down here working?".
It made me wonder (not for the first time) if the Tiny Human may someday say the same thing to me. So although most of my work normally happens on weekends I am going to attempt to have at least one weekend a month free, so the Tiny Human, the Bearded One and I can spend time as a family.
