By now you have probably heard about that a threat has been made to contaminate infant formula. For those that didn't know this was a thing, in November 2014 Fonterra and the Federated Farmers received anonymous letters containing milk powder laced with 1080 which stated formula would be contaminated with 1080 if New Zealand didn't stop using it (1080) by the end of this month (March).
News of the threat broke yesterday afternoon and as expected people started to freak out, especially as the treat had been known about since November and they hadn't been informed till now.
Pak'n'Save, New World & FourSquare were quick put controls in place for panic buying and sent out the following in an email yesterday afternoon...

We know families with young children will want to ensure they have an ongoing safe supply of infant formula for their children but please resist the urge to stock up on infant formula to ensure product is available for all. For now, we are limiting purchases to two tins per customer per product. We have also removed infant formula sachets from our shelves until further notice.
This morning a video was released on how to check for tampering (posted below), so you know what to look for when you're shopping or when you get your formula home.
If you think you have product that has been tampered with DON'T USE IT. Keep the package and call the police on 0800 723 665
If you have any health concerns, call Healthline on 0800 611 116
