A lot of my cooking is done by way of eyeballing & smell; and making meatballs requires a bit of eyeballing.
This is a nice simple recipe that my husband used for burger patties when working as a chief. It is the basics and you can change it up by adding herbs, spices or using lamb mince rather than beef.

INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
TIME TO MAKE: A bit longer than an episode of 'Boardwalk Empire'
- 500g Beef Mince (approx)
- 1 Egg (size 7)
- 1/2 Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves or 2 tsp Minced/Chopped Garlic
- Breadcrumbs
- Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
- Pepper
- 400g Diced Tomatos
- 540g Select Tomato + Basil Pasta Sauce (or your preferred pasta sauce)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Finely dice onion & garlic
- In a bowl mix together mince, onion, garlic & egg. It is best to use your hands for this as you can really squish the mixture together and it makes the task much easier.
- Add breadcrumbs till mixture is tacky. It is best to add the breadcrumbs a little bit at a time as you don't want the mixture to become too dry.
- Add Lea & Perrins and pepper (to taste), and mix through. You may need to add a little more breadcrumbs after adding the worcestershire sauce.
- Take approximately 2 Tbsp of meatball mixture and form into a ball. Repeat until no mixture remains.
- Heat oil in pan (medium heat)
- Place meatballs in pan & cook till no longer pink/till they have browned (photo for reference).
- Once meatballs have cooked, add tomato's & pasta sauce to pan; and cook at a medium to low heat for 15 - 20mins
- Serve on top of spaghetti, topped with parmesan cheese.
