Last week while strolling the supermarket with grandma we came upon these things called Baby Puffs. There were a couple of other products on the shelves (of course not together) by Little Bellies and after a bit of humming and haring, we decided to get a pack of Bursting Blueberry Baby Puffs for the Tiny Human to try; worst case scenario is that he wouldn't like them.
The Bearded One spotted the Baby Puffs when we got home and mentioned that they are for 9+months and he doesn't remember seeing them when the Tiny Human was that age, so we are guessing they are newish to New Zealand or at least to Countdown.
Baby Puffs are certified organic, low in sugar & salt and are gluten & wheat (they also don't have any of that artificial stuff).
So back to the salt and sugar thing. per 100g Baby Puffs have 1.1g sugars and 2mg sodium. Per serving (12g) it dwindles down to 0.1g sugars and 0.2mg sodium. In this day in age it's rare to read the packaging on something and see such low numbers.
To my surprise the Tiny Human LOVED the Bursting Blueberry Baby Puffs and left a couple of Tiny Human sized purple mouth prints on people...opps.
So when I returned to the supermarket this afternoon and saw Yummy Carrot Baby Puffs I had to get them for the Tiny Human to try out (I also got another pack of Bursting Blueberry). At the moment it seems like the Tiny Human is trying to eat us out of house and home, so little snacks like these are great, especially since he isn't overly keen on fruit...he'll eat them, but "eh".
This discovery of Little Bellies products will have me looking on the shelves every visit to the supermarket for something new to try out. Maybe next we will try the Corn Cakes.
