Besides it being easy, why buy party decorations? Especially when you're a creative and have things laying around from that one project you were going to do that time.
Naturally for the first Tiny Human birthday, I wanted a bunting sign stating the event (My First Birthday) and of course I didn't want to buy something that I could make myself.

To make a paper bunting sign like this you will need...
Cardstock (colour of choice)
I used Rosie's Studio Pad 40 Sheet A4 Blue, which was left over from Spawn Shower last year. Great to have on hand.
110gsm A4 (colour of choice)
1inch-ish Ribbon (colour of choice)
Scissors
Needle & Thread

HOW TO
- Figure out what you would like your sign to say. Assign one flag per letter and one flag per space.
ie. My First Birthday is 17 letter and 1 space (well technically 2 spaces, but I created two rows), so 18 flags are needed.
- Somehow I figured out that for the size flag I wanted I could get 4 flags from one sheet of A4.
At it's widest point my bunting flags are about 14cm. So measure out width and cut.
- .To make the bunting flags, I drew a line from corner to corner, then cut.
- Repeat this process for secondary colour, however once triangle flags are cut trim off approximately one centimeter (5mm from two sides) so secondary colour is smaller than first colour.
- So as not to be wasteful I used the scraps from the flag cutting to write the letters on. You will want the lettering to be the same colour as your first flag colour (the under colour) OR you could use whatever colour you want.
- Once you have all of your components, glue them together. I just used glue stick.
- Organise bunting flags so they are in order and sew to length of ribbon. I did a stitch at each end.
Yay! You should now have your very own paper bunting banner or be well on your way to creating one. YOU GO GLENN COCO!
