It took the bearded one & I some time to figure out the mixing of rice cereal. When mixing with breast milk we found the Farex Pear & Banana Rice Cereal would thin the longer it had been sitting; it would be the right consistency when first mixed, but 20minutes later it would be runny and more like a soup.
We've since discovered that the Tiny Human enjoys prunes to be used in the making of his rice cereal; not only does this give the grey slop some colour, but it also makes it smell less like "pre-made vomit" as the bearded one describes it.

INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 1/2Tbsp Farex Baby Cereal Pear & Banana From 4mths
- 1 1/2Tbsp Watties Baby Food Rice Cereal From 4 Months Pouch
- 4 - 6 Prunes (pitted)
- 1Cup Hot Boiled Water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut 4 - 6 prunes into small pieces, place in small dish/container & cover with hot boiled water. Cover container and leave to steep for at least an hour.
- Remove prunes from liquid and puree using a food processor.
We don't have a food processor, so I puree the prunes by pushing them through a sieve. It is time consuming, but it does the trick. - Place rice cereals in bowl and mix in liquid from prunes a tablespoon at a time till at desired consistency.
Breast milk or formula can be used if you prefer. - Add approximately 1tsp of prune puree to rice cereal and mix throughly.
